Just like everything else, Canadian Family Camping Federation had to have a beginning, and a purpose to begin.

It all began in October 1965, through a few Canadian Family Campers, just like you, getting together, and deciding to form a purely Canadian Family Camping organization, which would appreciate and accept campers regardless of the type of equipment they chose to use, or the type of camping they preferred.

The basic purpose of this organization is to simulate interest in the field of Conservation and the pastime of camping and hiking, among the people of Canada.

The basic concept of fulfilling this purpose is though the formation of Camping Clubs, affiliated with CFCF, and located in the many towns, cities, and communities across Canada.

In November 1965, the original group, plus a few more families, met, adopted a constitution and launched CFCF.

CFCF has on occasion exercised strong views on matters pertaining to the conservation of our natural resources, the need of additional camping facilities, and the betterment of family camping in Canada. As the need arises, CFCF will continue to exercise this strong voice on all matters pertaining to the improvement of the family campers needs and desires in all parts of Canada.

This is your opportunity to take an active part in the growth of CFCF, and assist our organization to follow a course of action that will benefit all campers, from all walk of life, towards gaining full enjoyment of the Canadian outdoors.

The CFCF membership extends to you a welcome to join with them in the fun and fellowship that has been developed through working and playing together over the past few years. As a group working together a unity and purpose had developed which will see the betterment of family camping in Canada.
